Savings index · Consumer Data Right

Your cash is probably earning a loyalty tax.

Most Australians leave savings in an everyday-linked account paying near zero, while the sharpest bonus and term-deposit rates we track sit unused. We rank every provider best-rate-first so you can move your money in minutes.

The best headline rate we track is 5.90%, but it's an intro teaser that reverts. We badge every intro and bonus rate and show the best sustainable rate (5.50%) alongside, so you know what you'll really keep.

Term deposits

Lock a fixed rate for a set term, government-guaranteed up to $250,000. We surface the best rate for every standard term from 3 months to 5 years, currently 5.35% at 1 year.

How it works

Three steps, no sign-up

01

We pull the market

Every bank publishes its rates under the Consumer Data Right. We read all of them each week, savings and term deposits alike.

02

We rank best-first

We compute the true headline rate for each account, flag the bonus conditions, and sort so the sharpest rate we track is at the top.

03

You move your cash

Pick a better account or term deposit and open it directly with the provider. No middleman, no fee to us.

Straight answers

The questions savers ask

Is SavingsSense really free?
Yes. We don't charge you and we don't sell your details. We build the index from free, government-mandated open data. You open any account directly with the provider.
What's a bonus saver, and what's the catch?
A bonus saver pays a low base rate plus a bonus rate you only earn if you meet monthly conditions, usually depositing a set amount and making no withdrawals. Miss a month and you drop to the base rate. We show both so there are no surprises.
Are term deposits safe?
Deposits with an Australian bank, building society or credit union (an ADI) are covered by the Australian Government's Financial Claims Scheme up to $250,000 per person per institution. A term deposit locks your rate for the term you choose.
How current are the rates?
We refresh the index weekly from the Consumer Data Right: the same product data every bank is legally required to publish. Each page shows the snapshot week. Rates can change between refreshes, so always confirm on the provider's site before opening.

Stop paying the loyalty tax

The best sustainable savings rate is 5.50% and idle cash earns about 1.45%. On $50,000 that gap is roughly $2,025 a year you could keep.
