Card index · Consumer Data Right

Your credit card could be quietly charging you ~20% a year.

CardSense ranks Australian credit cards by their advertised purchase interest rate, cheapest first, so you can see the loyalty tax you could be paying and the annual fee you probably never review. No upload, no signup: it's a live public ranking.

Where the money goes

Two costs hiding in plain sight

~20% purchase interest

Carry a balance and most cards charge around 16% p.a. The sharpest we track is 9.74% (ongoing). On a $3,000 balance that difference is real money every month you don't clear it.

An annual fee you forgot about

Most rewards cards carry a recurring annual fee that renews silently. If you're not redeeming enough points to cover it, a no-fee card can quietly win.

Rewards that may not pay off

33 of 86 tracked cards bundle a points program. Great if you use it, but a higher rate and fee are the price, so it's worth checking the maths.

How CardSense works

One government feed, ranked for you

We read the source

Every issuer must publish its card products through the Consumer Data Right. We pull them all, weekly.

We rank by real cost

We sort by the advertised purchase interest rate, flag the annual fee, cash-advance rate and rewards.

You compare and switch

See where your card sits, then decide: clear the balance, drop the fee, or move to a sharper rate.
